  Description

I flew a 172M a few days ago and just after flew this plane. It is surprising the performance difference of this plane with a 180HP engine. A few advantages are: 1. Even at lower altitude I can get around 130 knots. That's closer to Cessna 182 cruise speeds. 2. The service ceiling increases from 14,000ft up to 19,500ft. This is more than most single engine airplanes. 3. Gross weight increase of 200lbs. (The useful load of this plane is 1069lbs) So you can finally carry 4 adults in a 172. 4. Only 400ft needed for takeoff. Much faster climb rate than a standard 172. This great performance makes it fun to fly and gives you additional safety like flying over weather or into a shorter runway. (Please watch my full video of the plane to see the details and performance. I also have another, detailed video about the 180 conversion with all interesting facts I’ve included up in the video section.) Penn Yan Aero’s 180 horsepower SuperHawk conversion is a reputable upgrade. This upgrade costs over $35,000. This 172/180 model is in so much demand because you can get the performance of a newer 172 at a fraction of the new price. Fully upgraded Garmin avionics make it even more capable. Very good IFR certified and current airplane. Low time engine. Clean midwest plane. All logs since new. Complete avionics upgrade that costs around $30,000. Garmin audio panel with 4 place intercom for all passengers. Garmin GNS 530W for your navigation, radios, all instrument flights and procedures. You can fly RNAV approaches to LPV minimums. It also displays traffic. (You can trade 530W for an upgrade to the latest GTN 650 or 750 at a much lower cost). Garmin GTX 345 transponder is the most advanced Garmin unit available. It provides ADS-B in and out. So you can fly in any airspace and use any airport without restrictions. What I like most is it has bluetooth connection so I get real time weather, traffic and so much more valuable data to my iPad which is very helpful. I can even display synthetic vision. Upgraded digital radio. Dual VOR/CDI indicators with glideslopes. All these make it a very good IFR plane. Engine is Lycoming O-360-A4M 180HP and Sensenich 2 blade propeller. Only 785 hours. Very good compression 74,75,79,74. We did oil analysis to see the internal condition of the engine and the report came back clean. These engines can run well over 3000 hours if you maintain them correctly. As you see in the video the engine generates full power and speeds. With the Tanis engine heater you can avoid harmful cold starts and extend the life of the engine. With the EGT gauge you can precisely lean to save fuel, fly longer range and keep the engine cleaner. We usually do all maintenance before we list a plane; this one we installed a carburetor and alternator. Exterior is in good condition. No corrosion. I noticed a few minor chips in the paint but overall it looks very nice. All glasses are clean which is an indication of a hangared airplane. I prefer the wing mounted taxi & landing lights like this one has as they provide better visibility. These are upgraded to long lasting much brighter LED. I keep them on all the time around busy airports so planes can see you even in the day. I think the interior is original. Overall it’s clean which is an indication of how the previous owners cared for the plane. Both pilot seats are 3 way adjustment. Some seat seams are coming apart and there is a small rip in the one side. I don't know if you can see them in the photos but we do show it in the video. You can keep the original look or we have a complete set of upholstery that can be installed which is included or if the buyer wants new upholstery we can help with that. The rear seats are in very good condition, they recline for comfort This plane has upgraded directional air vents which are very nice on hot days. There was an accident history reported in 1978. Since it was 44 years ago, repaired professionally and the airplane has flown thousands of hours since, I personally have no concern about it but I want to mention it. One main reason people like to buy from us is that we are up front and honest about the planes we sell. Very nice 172 with performance of a newer plane. Full upgraded panel and IFR airplane. So you can fly conveniently and safely. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Don't forget to watch the video. 5 things 1. Arrange a prebuy with a local mechanic or accommodate yours 2. Transport anywhere in USA for low cost 3. Arrange to look at it on weekends also - if you schedule ahead 4. Provide free 5-hour training with CFI if you need 5. Help you find financing & insurance

As first-time aircraft buyers, we felt in excellent hands with Megan at Aerolife. From the first moment of contact with her to the time we picked up our 1973 Cessna 177 Cardinal in Minnesota, Megan made the experience smooth, straight-forward and transparent. Megan went out of her way to explain specific technical questions we had, helped with recommendations on inspection items, arranged CFIs to get checked out and was available throughout the process to reassure and guide us through the logistics of the purchase process. We would definitely purchase from Aerolife Aviation in the future and wholeheartedly recommend the company, and especially Megan as an honest, fair and trustworthy airplane broker with top-notch customer service.

- Birgit, Henry and Kurt

Megan was very thorough and professional. We thought the process went very smooth. Enjoyed working through the process. Many Thanks

Great buying experience with Megan. Plane was exactly as described and we could not be more pleased with our purchase.

- Brad Rentz

This is the third aircraft I have purchased in my lifetime so I can say from experience this was my best buying experience by far. I have complete confidence in Aerolifes business model of how Aerolife will acquire an aircraft then thoroughly and professionally inspect the airplane then fix or replace what ever needs done if any to prepare that aircraft to sell. No smoke and mirrors, they are very upfront and forward in regards to any imperfections with your new plane. I recently purchased a beautiful Cessna 182Q and couldn’t be happier with my plane and how Megan and her team helped guide me though the transfer of my last plane and purchase of my new 182Q. I really enjoyed getting to meet Megan and all the super friendly folks up in Fergus Falls MN when I went up to fly my new plane for the first time. Overall excellent experience.

- Ray P.

Very easy to work with Aerolife and very accommodating, and knowledgeable. In a fast pace aggressive market for these planes they simplify buying process using DocuSign and knowing plenty of folks in industry to assist in the process if required.

- Travis Wisniewski

I will never be able to express my total gratitude and appreciation to Megan for her extremely professional, capable, friendly, honest, cleaver, resourceful, and experienced expertise! She not only helped me navigate the risky and sometimes stressful path to aircraft ownership, but spent numerous hours educating and helping me make the right decision in upgrades and other significant factors in the aircraft purchase. I am very impressed and totally trust Megan and Aerolife Aviation to satisfy all my future trade in and aircraft purchases. In fact, I will only deal with Aerolife Aviation and Megan from now on! A thousand thank you’s Megan! You made this happen!

- Patrick S.

Aerolife Aviation was great to deal with. Megan handled the buying process well from providing the paperwork, to getting the plane delivered to a mechanic for inspection, and arranging the plane to be delivered to Alabama. I think the plane looks great and I am very happy with the purchase.

- Randy S.

Aerolife Aviation made the purchase of our 182 P an easy and stress free transaction.
