One of the nicest Cessna 177B Cardinals I've seen. Last week I flew this plane over 1100 miles over mountainous terrain, around stormy weather and through turbulence - all in a single day. It flew and handled beautifully. Cardinal is a hard plane to find because owners love them and tend to keep them. They are roomy yet economical with only 8-10 gal/hr fuel burn. 125 knot speed is decent for a fixed gear. Low insurance, low annuals and maintenance cost. This plane was hangered in dry country. Previously owned by an airline pilot. Well organized logs since new. No major damage history. Previous owners took care of it very well. You can take your family and friends in a great looking airplane. Super nice exterior, shiny newer paint. Paint usually cost $13000-$18000. The interior is also in very nice condition. The exterior and interior condition can tell a lot about how the plane was kept and maintained in the past. Well kept airplanes are usually well maintained as well. Current annual and IFR certified. Entire panel is upgraded. Modern PMA audio panel with 4 place intercom for everyone in the plane. Plane has a moving map GPS. This is an older model but was helpful for our long flight back. Dual digital nav com’s connected to 2 CDI/VOR indicators for IFR flights. Latest Garmin GTX 335 transponder for ADS-B out. This upgrade costs about $5200. It had a Century autopilot but they replaced the turn coordinator which controls the autopilot. Control switches are still there. I don't think they removed the servos. So you may be able to get it working. But at this point it doesn't work and we didn't check into it. Upgraded digital tachometer gives you precise readings. The plane also has digital EGT which is more accurate than a factory gauge. Both rudder and elevator trim for ease of flying. Also the fuel selector has left/right/both options. Upgraded adjustable panel light system which was very nice on our night flight. At one point in the past, the plane wasn't flown for a while. It has been completely checked and flew hundreds of hours after so no factor. There was a minor hanger rash that happened when hand pushing which was professionally fixed. Most sellers wouldn't mention those minor negative points but we like to describe as accurately as possible. Comfortable upgraded leather seats. Both height and tilt adjustable. Plastic and headliner in very good condition. Clean carpet as well. All the glasses are clean. No fogging. Great visibility all around. Passenger window has the photo window upgrade. The engine is Lycoming 180HP O-360. This is one of the best and most reliable engines. TBO is 2000 hours. This engine has just over 1000 hours with great compressions. Well maintained, these engines can run around 3500 hours before requiring an overhaul. This is one of the nicest 177B I have seen for a while. Flies great. Comfortable smooth ride.
