(Please watch the detailed video of this 172 in the video section on this page right below the main image) Although this looks like any other 172, this has an updated avionics package that you’d rarely find in a 172. It is about $42,000 in upgrades including the latest Garmin avionics and even an autopilot. These avionics actually make flying it safer and lower the pilot workload. This plane is a great IFR platform and can be used for instrument training. Hangared in the Midwest, all logs since new, not registered to a flight school. Owned by an airline pilot. Original paint in decent condition. Some paint chips but no corrosion. Clean airframe, no hail or damages. No damage history. Our Mechanic did a pre-buy inspection and he was very satisfied with the condition of the plane. We flew this plane on a night flight, controls are very smooth; flies straight. That’s an indication of a well maintained plane. Lycoming e2d engine is one of the best ever built. This 172k has the same engine as 172M, only a few minor differences. About 1085 hours since overhaul where they did an engine tear down and internal inspection. Installed new bearings and parts, cylinders honed (since cylinders were not replaced it cannot be called a major overhaul). 1530 Since Factory Reman. Very good compression: 78, 75, 75, 78. Very clean engine, no leaks and runs very smooth. Updated LED landing light. New tires. Clean glasses overall, rear a little less clear. Very clean interior; an indication of a well cared for and maintained airplane. Leather seats, wool fabric inserts, 3 point safety harness. Clean carpets, plastic & headliner in nice condition. D10 glass attitude indicator (like Garmin G5 but more information). Like a mini PFD; displays all main gauge information for reference. I like how it displays wind direction and speed in real-time. Good to help learn glass panels. Upgraded Garmin CDI’s with glide slope and secondary CDI for instrument flights. Digital Fuel scan 450. Very useful especially for long flights. Shows fuel flow, used and remaining fuel. You can also save a lot of fuel by leaning properly. Helps not to overlean and run hot which is not good for the engine. Completely upgraded Garmin stack in the center including: Garmin 430 WAAS GPS/NAV/COMM. Shows terrain and traffic which is very useful in flight. Garmin GTX 345 transponder. Most advanced transponder. Costs around 7200 to install. ADS-B in and out. Bluetooth so you have real time weather and traffic in Foreflight or other apps. This airplane even has a single access autopilot. It is very useful when you need to take your hands off the yoke for a bit. It can be a lifesaver if you end up from VFR in IMC or during hard IMC flights. Almost all these extra features are upgrades and not available in standard 172’s. These electronics cost over $42,000 to install. They make a huge difference in safe flying. It is hard to find a 172 with these features. Well maintained, great running airplane with very useful upgrades. 6 things we can do for you... 1. Transport anywhere in USA for low cost 2. Arrange prebuy with local mechanic or bring yours here 3.
